The 2026 season opener of the Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series presented by Continental has set a high bar for what’s to come in USDH this season.
The women’s field was stacked across the top-seeded racers; Logar, Melton, Newkirk, Ostgaard, Skelton all lining up at the start gate. On the men’s side, Medcalf, Suetos, Pate, Shaw, Vermette, Pinkerton, Lawrence, Silva, the roll-call ran deep! With the UCI Continental Series designation for Round 1, Luke Mallen found himself as the lone Junior cracking the top-10 in the combined race format. This field of top talent is the reassurance that US Downhill is continuing to thrive.
Freezing temperatures and high winds on Saturday morning served as a stark contrast to the afternoon conditions with thousands of spectators and attendees descending on Ride Rock Creek to get a glimpse of the early season storylines that will unfold throughout the 2026 national series. Rising stars are emerging, championship titles are on the line.
